I’ve tried a lot of active chairs over the last several years. I’ve been plagued by hip tightness issues and pain that can make it rough to sit in a normal office chair, or even to stand at a standing desk without making it worse. This is the most comfortable active chair I’ve come across. Using it in a perching position keeps my thighs below my hips, which is healthy and comfortable for my hip flexors. And the saddle seat helps both to keep my hips open and to help make sure I can keep a grip on the chair while leaning. (I’ve definitely kind of rolled sideways off of similar chairs with a circular seat before!) Anyway, I like the Varier Move so much that I bought a second one so I can sit in it both at work and at home.
I use my stool at my desk and love the way my back feels! The tip in the base is what really allows for my back to be comfortable. I used to always tuck one foot under my bum though it is not good for you. Now that option is not there and my feet are comfortable on the floor. Highly suggest this Move Stool.
5* everything!
This is a fantastic chair that is functional and well put together. It contours perfectly to my seating position and is surprising very comfortable although the shape may not give that impression. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase!
I got the chair what I want to reduces the volume pain in my back.

I have an adjustable desk and wanted to work more in the standing position, but I have a habit of locking my knees if I stand for awhile. This unconscious habit led to leg cramps and other discomforts. With the Varier stool, I’m comfortable in both the sitting and the “leaning-forward-semi-standing” position. When I am in the semi-standing position, I can plant my feet, relax my knees, and shift most of my bodyweight from my seat and to my legs without any discomfort. Best news is that my back and shoulder posture is vastly improved. I will add that for the first several days of usage, I felt a bit like I had been horseback riding all day. It’s much better now.
This is the 5th stool that I bought. I have them at all my benches in my shop. 1st one I bought was about 1986. Great for my back, allows me to sit straight.
I love that I have this stool as an option to sit on in my office. There are times that I am on zoom calls for six hours at a time, and with this stool I can change the height, I can twirl around, and I can lean forward on it, and almost stand while sitting. All great options when you need to be seated all day!
I’m totally happy with this purchase. I was thinking of getting a gaming chair, but I’m so glad I got this. It has to be the easiest assembly ever; the hardest part is just opening the box. For me, it was comfortable right away, but I have noticed slight muscle aches towards the end of the day, but I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s forcing me to correct my posture. My wife got one as well and she’s loving it.
I’m using this as an adjustable stool for my drawing classes. I draw at an easel. The fixed ottoman I was using before was giving me a backache. This Move stool is perfect and worth the price. It’s not uncomfortable per se, it is sturdy and needs to be sturdy because it is also a wobble stool. The saddle seat allows you to control the stool much like riding a horse. Definitely worth it for me. My back ache is gone.
Love this product! So comfortable and has really helped my coccyx pain. The seat was too small (I’m a small 5’5” woman) and they switched it out for me for the smaller size. Great company, product, and customer service!
Amazing chair and amazing service from Furniture For Life. Both are 5 stars!
In terms of the chair, I love it! It keeps me very mindful of my sitting posture while working at my desk, which I do for many hours every day. I move and stretch in different ways to open up my hips and stretch my back and leg muscles. I switch back and forth from the seated and standing positions which is something that makes this chair better than any other I’ve ever owned. It will take some getting used to. My tail end was sore after the first day of use but only for a day or so and it can take some effort to keep your back straight but I’m pretty sure that’s the point and it gets easier the more you use the chair. I can already feel an improvement in my lower back and hip stiffness.
In terms of the seller’s service, Amazon shipped the wrong color chair from their warehouse but the seller fixed it immediately! Excellent communication and even a follow up later to make sure everything was as it should be. I would recommend buying from them without hesitation.
